Pastel Activewear Is Summer 2020’s Biggest Trend
Running can be cute!
There’s nothing we love more than hanging up our drab winter clothing for something a little more colourful as we come into the spring-summer months. As much as we’re a fan of neons and colour-blocked primary hues, these colours aren’t for everyone, which is where pastels come in. Flattering on just about every skin tone, the S/S 20 pastel trend may just be one of our favourites yet, with all our favourite closet staples reimagined in candy coloured and sherbet hues.
It may come as no surprise then, that summer’s biggest athleisure trend is all about embracing soft shades. Lemon-hued leggings? A lavender crop top? We’ll take it all. Whether you’re already a super-fan or new to the trend, we’ve put together a guide to the best pastel shades to shop now.
Orange
We love this warm orange sunset hue which is in between a red and yellow. The colour orange is meant to make you more lively and determined - perfect for working out. Plus, it’s a great colour to have in your wardrobe as you transition your cold-weather pieces into the summer months - it works just as well with the warmer, darker hues of winter as it does with cheerier pastel tones.
Purple
Purple can be a tough one to pull off. Too dark and it looks a bit gothic, too light and it washes you out. Despite lilac having usually been considered too sickly sweet, this season it’s been given a cool-girl twist thanks to our favourite fashion influencers and plenty of winning new sporty staples.
Green
A softer shade than both turquoise and green, mint green is the perfect choice for the warmer months. Flattering on almost all skin tones, it’s easy to pair with other colours too, try it with peach, white, black, beige and navy, just to name a few, what’s not to love?
Pink & Blue
Soft pinks and blues may sound subtle, but when styled in the right way, they can be as eye-catching as a bright pop of colour. Sure to melt away any remnants of winter, this colour combination is sure to inject some sunshine into your everyday wardrobe.
