Suit everyone and even draw in the opposite sex.

The 5 fragrances every woman must own | Goxip

As far as we’re concerned a spritz of perfume is as crucial to our daily beauty routine as a moisturiser or spf. We like to think of it as the final step that makes you feel instantly put together, no matter how little sleep you got the night before.

Despite the ritual of perfume being a highly personal one, with many different fragrances suiting many different occasions, there are, it seems, just some fragrances that are general crowd pleasers. Classics, for a reason, there are certain scents that never go out of style and are guaranteed to suit everyone and even draw in the opposite sex. Not too overpowering, but dominant enough to pack a punch (in best, compliment-giving kind of way), we’ve rounded up the 5 fragrances every girl should own.

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin

Jo Malone London calls Basil the "unconventional hero" of this cologne, which is meant to evoke the sun-soaked scents of the Caribbean. Infused with the herb's peppery, warm notes, this signature fragrance also combines Mandarin, Lime and White Thyme for a vibrant and unexpected twist. If you love it, you can even get the candle or diffuser to match.

Chanel No.5

Chanel’s now-legendary fragrance is made up of a highly complex blend of aldehydes and florals - including rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, lily of the valley and iris - all layered over a warm, woody base of vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and patchouli. As per Chanel’s request, it smells more like a "composition" rather than any single flower, which is all part of the scent’s mystery. Wear it for evening or daytime, just make sure to apply it with caution - the scent is very concentrated.

Chloé Eau de Parfum

One for the flowerheads, this Chloé parfum mixes notes of peony, rose petals and magnolia for a fresh, sweet smell. An ideal choice for daytime - just spritz it on and head out the door.

Christian Dior Miss Dior

This full-on floral is classic without ever veering into grandma territory, blending Grasse rose with the boldness of Damascus rose, it’s finished was a fresh note of Calabrian bergamot that rounds everything out. Strong but without being overly sweet - we love it for the warmer months.

Daisy - Marc Jacobs Fragrances

A hit from when it first came out in 2007, this is now one of the most well-known fragrances, loved for its citrusy and fresh scent. Lighter and less pungent than other perfumes on the market, it’s made up of fresh notes of violet leaves, wild strawberries, jasmine and gardenia that offset a headier base of musk, sandalwood and vanilla.
