Burberry Newest Pocket Bag Has Already Reached Icon Status, Here’s Why...

For the first time in its history, Burberry have launched a campaign centred around one of their bags. Designed by Creative Director Riccardo Tisci, the Pocket bag has already cemented itself as one of the fashion house’s most iconic pieces.

Tisci has proven himself to be a master at taking statement pieces from Burberry’s rich archive and giving them a fresh modern, twist, which is exactly what’s he’s done with the Pocket bag. Taking inspiration from an archival design which had a rigid structure, Tisci updated the tote with leather taping, a front pocket for accessibility, and bold logo detailing.

Well, firstly a certain Hadid might have had something to do with it. With the campaign starring none other than Bella Hadid, the supermodel was shot in a dynamic series of photos taken by the duo Inez and Vinoodh. Taking inspiration from the Burberry Animal Kindom – a house code created by Thomas Burberry and reignited by Tisci throughout his tenure so far – Hadid is shot posing with a Burberry big cat. Upon release the pictures immediately took Twitter and Instagram by storm, propelling the Pocket into our social consciousness.
