The term rough refined is oft utilized as a part of form, yet once in a while is it as able - and exact - as on account of Anndra Neen, the gems line outlined by Mexico City-conceived, New York-based sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephens. Hailing from a long line of specialists (their father is a painter and their grandmother was an artist/jeweller whose creations were worn by Frida Kahlo and Peggy Guggenheim), the sisters create what they term "Mad Max-meets-ladies who lunch" pieces in startling shapes and materials that address their refined foundation while deliberately exhibiting the hand of the artisan.
