Top Trends and Highlights From NYFW Fall 2020!
Explore the New York Fall Runways with us!
The 2020 Fall Fashion Weeks of New York, London and Milan have come to an end one by one in the past few weeks. Of course, last but not least, we are still looking forward to the Paris one. Meanwhile, we can make good use of the time to look over the New York Fashion Week again. Though we are missing a number of major designer brands in the NYFW 2020 Fall schedule, there are quite a few new designers that are worth our attention, like Priscavera & Private Policy. Here, we have highlighted the trends you need to know.
4 Top Trends from NYFW 2020
Oversized ponchos and capes
The designers have started playing with the volume for several seasons already, through flared pants, long trains and wide skirts. From NYFW Fall 2020, we can see they continue the game by bringing us oversized ponchos and capes next season. Michael Kors have rendered the oversized knit capes in rich autumn color tones, while Proenza Schouler, Longchamp and Carolina Herrera offered some other oversized or even floor-length ponchos and capes. Forget about the basic black or camel coat and get these it-coats now!
Exaggerated Silhouettes
The Hollywood stars are going bolder and more glamorous with their style on the red carpet. To satisfy their needs, the designers present an array of pieces with exaggerated silhouettes, dialing up the glam to a large extent. Christopher John Rogers, Brandon Maxwell, Area and Carolina Herrera are some good examples to look at. On the hunt for new pieces for your next season wardrobe? Go for the special, uncompromising silhouettes to take on the glam!
Floral elements
Floral elements are not something new in the industry. The designers are, however, giving the floral boom a fresh take this AW season. From tops, jackets to gowns and skirts, many of the pieces are covered in floral blossoms in the way of jacquards, embroidery, beading and prints, channelling a particularly cool spring vibe. Check out the stunning pieces from Rodarte, Tory Burch and Carolina Herrera.
Sustainable Fashion
As one of the key-takeaway trends of NYFW Fall 2020, sustainability and eco-fashion is still on the industry’s top agenda. Featuring the prints from exiting textiles and hand-dyeing techniques, the ‘Garden Hoe’ collection from Collina Strada brings sustainability and fashion style together seamlessly without compromising one or each other. The ‘Repurpose With Purpose’ collection from Gabriela Hearst also upcycled materials and textiles.
Now we know what we are going to wear later this year. Before continuing reading the reports from London, Milan and Paris, check out the trendy pieces for next season before they are gone!
