The Autumn Winter Fashion Trends To Try Now
There might still be a few more weeks left of summer, there is no denying that the seasons are beginning to turn and autumn fashion is on everyone’s minds. September may be fashion’s favourite month: new-season styles are beginning to hit stores, fresh trends are explored, new coats are bought and our favourite knitwear gets to come out of storage.
However, the idea of new-season trends can be overwhelming. Where to start? Will it suit me? Do I really need another handbag? (You do). How many chain necklaces is too many? (Answer: never too many). Fear not - we’ve broken down the four biggest trends to invest in this season. September never looked so good.
Avante Garde tailoring is nothing new in the fashion world. From Comme des Garçons to more recently, Alexander Wang and the Japanese brand Sacai, designers love to play on proportions and create tailoring that is so much than just your basic blazer. Proving that it’s the little tweaks to staple items that make all the difference, some of this season’s coolest tailored garments are those that have been given an understated twist.
Gold chain necklaces and bracelets are making a huge comeback. Got a plain white T-shirt you wear with jeans but want to make it more special? Layer on some chunky gold necklaces and you’re ready to take that T-shirt to new levels. The same works when you want to embellish a throw-on dress, a button-down shirt or tailored trousers and even your loungewear can feel more elevated with the simple addition of a chain accent.
We called out this trend back in spring and the oversized tote is still dominating fashion sales. Gone are the days of the teeny tiny Baguette – this season’s latest trend has practicality in mind. Oversized tote bags can hold all your necessities without worry and look chic whilst doing it. Go colourful and printed with Fendi and Moshchino, or stick to classic black with styles from Bottega Veneta and Loewe.
（４）Platform and Pointed-toe Shoes
Square-toe heels had previously dominated the footwear market for the past year, but now there’s a new style in town and that’s the pointed toe. Previously known for being mumsy, garish and unfashionable, the pointed-toe shoe has come full circle and is now the epitome of cool-girl style. If you’re looking for a shoe that will bring a little more height to your look, than we’ve got good news, platforms are back. Valentino, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana all brought out platform boots hitting stores just in time for autumn, and platform mules are also set to make a comeback.
Makeup Trend - The 90s Eye
This season it seems the eyelid has taken a back seat to the lower lash line. Under-eye looks were first spotted on the runway in all different shapes and colours, from dots to stars, and glitter to graphic strokes, all guaranteed to create a statement-making look. To keep all the focus on the eyes, you want to be keeping the rest of your makeup natural-looking. A statement eye is best complemented with a glowy base, wispy brows and a natural lip.
